M 106  lies at a distance of approx. 23 million light years from Earth and spans approximately 30,000 light year across. The companion galaxy in the lower left of the frame is designated Ngc 4248 and is approximately 21 million light years from the Earth.


Image acquired using Apogee Ascent A8050 camera with Astrodon filter set mounted on an Astro-Tech AT10-RC astrograph.
