M 65 in Leo

This spiral galaxy is 29 million light years away from Earth with a diameter spans over 65,000 light years. It is a member of a group of galaxies known as "The Leo Trio".


Image acquired using SBIG St-10XME camera with Astrodon filter set through 12" Meade Lx-200Gps telescope with Celestron .63x reducer.



60 minutes of Luminance, 1x1 Binning.

20 minutes each of Red, Green and Blue, 2x2 Binning.

Five minute sub-frames.
